ARKANSAS PRIOR BIRTH INDEX, VOLUME 1, 2, 3 & 4
These are the four volumes indexed by Arkansas Genealogical Society of the birth records taken from the original certificates at the Vital Records Office of the Arkansas Department of Health and Human Services. Due to Arkansas law, births must be 100 years old before being published. A copy of any record can be obtained by contacting the Arkansas Health Department. Arkansas began keeping birth records in 1914 officially, but many births were not filed. If your ancestor was living in 1942; they could file for a “Prior” birth certificate.

Volume 1 contains 571 pages with births from 1849 through 1901.
Volume 2 contains 513 pages with births from 1855 through 1902.
Volume 3 contains 954 pages with births from 1862 through 1904.
Volume 4 contains 544 pages with births prior to 1906

ARKANSAS PRIOR BIRTH INDEX CD, VOLUME 1–5
This CD has all four of the Arkansas Prior Birth Index, Volume 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 are combined in a searchable database by the birth name, mother's maiden name, county, and date. Without going through the three books, all of the births are available in a flash. Requires Windows 98 version 2 or above.new image for new item

ARKANSAS TOWNSHIP ATLAS, 1819-1930
This soft bound book is an index of the civil divisions in the 75 counties of Arkansas. The maps show the locations of each township within the county and regional maps of the entire state. Counties are listed alphabetically with the origin of the township and the change of names through the years. This is a valuable resource in locating the township of your Arkansas ancestors and recently revised with an index. This book was compiled and donated to AGS by Russell P. Baker. ARKANSAS POST OFFICES: From Memdag to Norsk, A Historical Directory, 1832-1990 is soft bound book is an index of the post offices in Arkansas. It was compiled and donated by Russell P. Baker. The post offices are listed alphabetically with dates that the post offices opened. If the post offices are no longer in operation, the date they closed is included with the land description. This is a useful resource in locating the post offices from the census records. It has comments about many of the post offices and the person for whom the post offices were named.

MASONIC DEATHS IN ARKANSAS, 1838-1916
This soft bound book is an index of the deaths of Masons in Arkansas from 1838 to 1870 and from 1884 to 1916. The missing years of 1871 to 1883 were not available to the compiler at that time. Mrs. Arlene LaGrone indexed the information from the Annual Proceedings of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of the State of Arkansas. She donated this index to the Arkansas Genealogical Society for publication. The first section lists the Masonic Lodges with the county, date of charter and date disbanded. The last section lists the name, date of death, name of Lodge, location of Lodge and Lodge number.
